Trinity students shine at HAIS District Science Fair
BLOG RELEASE:
Trinity Lutheran School students shone brightly at the 2008 HAIS District Science Fair in Honolulu this week. Trinity Lutheran School sent 22 Middle School students and their science fair projects to the annual district science fair in Honolulu this week. After a grueling day of judging, six of these projects were selected to the 2008 Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair to take place March 31-April 31, 2008. Two of these projects were recognized and awarded, “Best of Category”.
We are so proud of all of these students who put so much creative time and effort into their projects. Our students were competing with such private schools as Kamehameha Schools, Island Pacific Academy, St. Andrew’s Priory, numerous Catholic Schools and some of our Lutheran schools. We are very pleased that so many of our students were selected to go on to compete at the state level.
The students selected to represent Trinity Lutheran School at the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair were: Troy Tandal (6), Annelise Gilbert (7), Carissa Wittig (7), Nicole Bradshaw (8), Tyler Davidson (
and Jenna Matsuura (8). Tyler Davidson received “Best of Category-Microbiology” recognition for his project which compared the bacterial content of mouths of dogs and humans. Jenna Matsuura received “Best of Category-Physics” recognition for her project which explained the correlation between ballet and the laws of physics.
