Our Principal Witnesses Tornado’s Destruction

We had some excitement last night when we were in a tornado warning for about 45 minutes. We took shelter in the inner confines of my sister’s basement. Tornadoes hit all around us, including at Chapman, Kansas (a little town about 11 miles away) where the elementary school, the middle school, and the high school all sustained heavy damage, as did 80% of the homes and businesses in Chapman. One woman was killed and 3 were critically injured. Photos taken this morning showing some of the destruction are attached. I figured you would work them into a sermon someday.

Tornadoes also struck Manhattan, Kansas (17 miles away and the home of my alma mater, Kansas State University). Sandy went to Manhattan today to take her mom to a doctor’s appointment. KSU had several buildings damaged with estimates at about $20 million.

Tell everyone aloha for us.

God’s Peace be with you,

Chris Anderson (Trinity’s school principal)

— Thank God Chris and family made it through this dangerous time.  We pray for all the families affected by this destruction.
